The Dallas Police Department continues to investigate the 2004 cold case murder of 42-year-old Lawrence Wheat.
On June 5, 2004, Mr. Wheat was found dead inside his home located in the 2500 block of S. Harwood Street. The investigation determined Mr. Wheat died from blunt force head trauma. An unknown suspect, described as a White or Hispanic male in his mid-20s, about 6’0" tall and weighing 170 pounds, was seen leaving Mr. Wheat’s home.
