On Saturday, August 3, at approximately 3:51 a.m., Mansfield Police Department Officers and Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the 2300 block of Newt Patterson Road in response to a single-vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle off the road and engulfed in flames. The Rendon Fire Department and Mansfield Fire Department were called to extinguish the fire. After the fire was put out, it was determined that the vehicle was occupied by the driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified by family as a 27-year-old man.
