On July 24, 2024, 66-year-old Raul Muñoz Carreon of Balch Springs was found guilty by a Dallas County jury today and sentenced to 15 years in prison for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
The abuse occurred in 2019 when the victim was 13 years of age. The victim told a family member about the sexual abuse who proceeded to contact Dallas Police.
Muñoz has waived his right to appeal. He is required to register as a sex offender and a lifetime protective order was issued to protect the victim. The relationship between Muñoz and the victim was not revealed.
The case was led by Kristen vanBolden, with Conner Sheets serving as the 2nd Chair. Natarsha Price of the Dallas County District Attorney’s office conducted the investigation, and Yvonne Macias provided victim advocacy. The Dallas Police Department was the primary investigating agency.
