On August 13, 2024, the Dallas Police Internal Affairs Division was notified by the Arlington Police Department that Dallas Police Officer Jalen Thomas, badge number 12339, turned himself in to the Arlington Police on July 25, 2024. Officer Thomas was facing a warrant for misdemeanor Deadly Conduct.
The incident leading to the charge occurred on July 2, 2024, while Officer Thomas was off-duty. Officer Thomas, who has been with the Dallas Police Department since March 2022, is currently assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division. He has been placed on administrative leave as the Internal Affairs Division conducts an administrative investigation into the matter.
