On August 18, 2024, at approximately 1:01 p.m., the Crowley Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting in the 1200 block of Celeste Street. Officers responded immediately and administered aid until the Crowley Fire/EMS Department arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The initial investigation indicates that this was an isolated domestic incident, and authorities believe there is no threat to the public at this time.
Deeven Letroy Jones, a 35-year-old Black male, was identified as a person of interest. Jones was taken into custody later that day, on Sunday, August 18th, with the assistance of Fort Worth Police Officers.
