The Irving Police Department is investigating two recent attacks that occurred along Campion Trail at the Sam Houston Trail Park, north of Highway 635. Both incidents involved women who reported being assaulted while walking or jogging on the trail.
In both cases, the suspect was described as a black man wearing black clothing, including a black hoodie, and having dreadlocks. On Tuesday, around 7:00 PM, officers were dispatched to Campion Trail after a female jogger called 911. She reported that the suspect grabbed her from behind and dragged her to the ground. The woman began to scream, prompting the man to flee the scene. Officers were unable to locate the attacker during their search.
The Irving Police Department is increasing patrols in the area to enhance safety and is requesting that anyone with information on the incidents contact them at 972-273-1010.
