At around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th, Grand Prairie Fire/EMS and Police responded to a rescue call at Traders Village after a rollercoaster malfunctioned, leaving several occupants stranded. Upon arrival, firefighters assessed the situation and determined that nine people required rescue. Rescuers had to rappel up the coaster and bring passengers down one-by-one.
All occupants were safely rescued without any injuries reported.
The cause of the malfunction is currently under investigation. No further information has been released at this time.
