The Fort Worth Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on September 7, 2024. The incident took place at approximately 9:22 p.m. in the 2100 block of Jacksboro Highway.
According to the investigation, a witness identified the suspect as 25-year-old Jose Maximino Ramirez Olmedo of Fort Worth. The witness reported that Ramirez Olmedo was traveling southbound on Jacksboro Highway at a high rate of speed and ran a red light. Ramirez Olmedo's vehicle collided with the victim’s vehicle, which was attempting a left-hand turn from a parking lot.
Officers located Ramirez Olmedo later that evening in the 2000 block of Standifer Street. He was arrested and charged with Accident Involving Death. Ramirez Olmedo is currently held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
The initial report revealed that the suspect vehicle struck the victim’s vehicle, causing the victim to be ejected. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot. The victim, 40-year-old Arturo Infante, was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced deceased.
