Dallas College Chancellor Justin Lonon and Tarrant County College Chancellor Elva LeBlanc were awarded the North Texas Commission 2024 Education Leadership Award during the commission’s annual membership luncheon. The North Texas Commission, a public-private partnership founded in 1971, focuses on addressing regional challenges to drive economic development, innovation, and quality of life improvements.
Chancellor Lonon expressed his gratitude for sharing the award with Chancellor LeBlanc, stating, “It represents the commitment of our colleges to create viable opportunities that enable our students, our workforce, and our economy to thrive. When we work together, our communities win big.”
Last month, Dallas College and TCC signed an agreement aimed at addressing the region’s high-demand job needs, including exploring initiatives such as economic development centers for emerging technologies and a consortium to fill health care vacancies.
Chancellor LeBlanc added, “Together we are working with business, community, and education partners to create a powerful support system with far more capacity than would be possible for any single organization.”
In 2025, both Dallas College and TCC will celebrate 60 years of transforming lives and communities, marking a milestone in their collaborative efforts to strengthen educational and economic opportunities in North Texas.
