On October 23rd, 2024, at approximately 4:42 PM, the Northlake Police Department responded to an accident involving two vehicles in the 17000 block of IH35W Northbound. Witnesses reported that both vehicles were traveling in the left lane when traffic began to slow. The driver of one vehicle reduced speed for the traffic ahead, but the driver of the following vehicle failed to slow down, resulting in a rear-end collision.
Kawaljweet Kaur, a 63-year-old woman from Denton, was a passenger in the first vehicle and was later pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported as life-threatening.
Investigators from the Northlake Police Department and the Regional Crash Team were dispatched to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. As of now, detectives are actively working on the case, and no criminal charges have been filed.
