On October 27, 2024, around 4:30 a.m., a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of N. Masters Drive and Elam Road in Pleasant Grove. A box truck, driven by a 31-year-old man, was traveling northbound on N. Masters Drive in the far-right lane with a green light at Elam Road. A separate vehicle occupied by two men was traveling eastbound on Elam Road when it reportedly ran a red light and collided with the box truck.
After the impact, the vehicle continued beneath the truck, struck a wooden power pole, and eventually came to rest in a tree line in the southeast area of the intersection. Both occupants of the vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the box truck stopped immediately and remained to cooperate with authorities.
