Cleburne Man Sentenced to 120 Years in Prison for Child Sexual Abuse

On October 25, 2024, Charles Eugene Evans Jr., a 38-year-old Cleburne, Texas resident, was convicted of three counts of Sexual Assault of a Child, three counts of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, and three counts of Indecent Exposure with a Child. His conviction was secured through compelling video evidence, testimonies from Cleburne Police Officers, Detectives, and numerous witnesses, as well as the dedicated efforts of the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office.

Evans was sentenced to 20 years for each of the first six counts, to be served consecutively (120 years), and 10 years for the remaining three counts, to be served concurrently, along with a $10,000 fine for each of the nine counts.

"We extend our gratitude to the jury for their commitment in fulfilling their civic duty, listening to and processing challenging testimony with care.", said the Cleburne Police Department in a statement.
