Visitors to the Irving Public Library branches may notice recent updates as all three locations have undergone renovations over the past few months. Improvements include high-quality carpeting and updated entryways at Valley Ranch and West branches, along with a new circulation desk at the South branch. Fresh paint, sound-dampening panels in study areas, an upgraded HVAC system for Valley Ranch, restroom improvements, and updated signage were also added.
Assistant Director Ben Toon, in an interview with ICTN, stated that these upgrades aim to enhance the spaces patrons use most. The renovations are funded by a municipal bond passed three years ago to expand and upgrade library services across Irving.
