16-Year-Old Dies in Accidental Shooting at East Fort Worth Home

On Tuesday, November 5, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Fort Worth police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3500 block of Avenue L in east Fort Worth. Emergency crews arrived to find 16-year-old Damariion Henton suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar EMS, Henton’s injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Henton, a resident of the home, was struck in the upper body when another individual handling a handgun reportedly caused the weapon to discharge. Police interviewed the suspect, but no arrests have been made at this time.

The Fort Worth Homicide Unit is conducting a full investigation into the incident.
