Adam Bazaldua, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem of Dallas, has been appointed to a one-year term on the National League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors. In this role, he will help guide NLC’s federal advocacy, governance, and membership activities, highlighting his commitment to advancing local communities both in Dallas and nationwide.
“This appointment is a significant milestone for both my district and the City of Dallas,” said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua. “It provides an opportunity to advocate for the needs of developing areas in large urban cities. I am excited to continue serving as a voice for my community in these conversations and striving to secure more federal funding to support the Dallas communities and organizations working tirelessly to keep our city vibrant and growing.”
Leadership Roles and Advocacy
Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua has served as the Chair of NLC’s Large Cities Council, leading discussions on key urban issues like infrastructure, affordable housing, and transportation. He also holds the position of Second Vice President for the Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) Constituency Group.
Recognized for his service and leadership, Bazaldua was honored at the NLC’s Annual City Summit Conference, where he received the Centennial Under 40 Impact Award for his dedication to community service.
Collaboration with National Leaders
As a member of the NLC Board of Directors, Bazaldua will work with municipal leaders from across the country to advocate for policies that benefit cities, towns, and villages of all sizes. Sharon Weston Broome, President of the NLC and Mayor-President of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, praised the board’s members for their vision and experience in building stronger communities.
Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Bazaldua has represented Dallas City Council District 7 since 2019.
