A 65-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday night on Highway 199 near Jay Bird Lane, authorities confirmed.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on February 16, Parker County Emergency Service District #1, Parker County Hospital District EMS, and DPS Troopers responded to reports of a pedestrian accident in the eastbound lanes of the highway. Emergency responders arrived to find a woman lying in the roadway.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Renee Eugenia Gonzales, who lived about a block from where the incident occurred.
The driver involved remained at the scene. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
