The Tri County Auto Theft Task Force assisted the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office in Italy, Texas, in the recovery of a stolen truck and trailer taken from a business yard in Hillsboro. Information led investigators to an address in Lancaster, where they discovered a stolen BigTex Trailer from Mississippi along with a large cache of stolen property.
Recovered items included:
- 38 pallets of various shingles
- 19 Samsung appliances
- 75 Samsung QLED TVs
The estimated value of the recovered property in Lancaster was $250,000.
The following day, investigators followed additional intelligence to a second location in Dallas, where they recovered $50,000 worth of stolen building materials and two more stolen trailers. The ongoing investigation involves multiple agencies as authorities work to identify those responsible.
