At their March membership meeting, the Irving Professional Fire Fighters Association announced their endorsements for the upcoming city council elections after meeting with candidates to discuss their positions on public safety.
The association endorsed:
- District 1: John Bloch (Incumbent)
- District 2 (City-wide): David Pfaff
- District 7: Priscilla Vigliante
Irving Professional Fire Fighters Association President Brian Becker stated, "Irving Fire Fighters want to help ensure that the city provides the best possible public safety. We appreciated the candidates' time as we looked for ways to further strengthen the fire service."
Chartered in 1971 with the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Irving Professional Fire Fighters Association represents over 400 firefighters, inspectors, and investigators. Becker added, "As long as elected officials and their appointees oversee our fire department, we want to ensure we're at the table when important public safety decisions are made."
