17-year-old Angelyn Melinda Nino-Herrera, a Hillcrest High School senior, was killed in a drive-by shooting at Trinity Overlook Park (2300 block of N. Beckley Avenue) in West Dallas on March 23, 2025.
Dallas Police responded to the shooting call at approximately 4:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Nino-Herrera with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
According to the investigation, Nino-Herrera was at the park with friends when an altercation broke out between other individuals. As those involved fled, they fired shots into the park. A witness reported that the suspect vehicle was a black Dodge Charger.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim.
The investigation is ongoing, and the case number is 040607-2025.
