On Thursday, March 27, 2025, at approximately 9:28 a.m., the Frisco Police Department responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at Hosp Elementary School, located at 5050 Lone Star Ranch Parkway. A School Resource Officer was the first to arrive at the scene, where they observed that a classroom window had been shattered. Fragments later identified as potentially from a bullet were found at the site.
While no injuries were reported, and there was no immediate danger to students or staff, authorities decided to dismiss students early out of an abundance of caution. Frisco Police Detectives arrived shortly afterward to investigate further, and evidence was documented and collected by the department’s Crime Scene Unit.
Detectives believe the incident was not intentional and have determined there is no indication the school was targeted. There is also no evidence of a public threat, and students have been assured that the school is safe to return to once the investigation is completed.
The matter remains under investigation, and once completed, it will be referred to the Denton County District Attorney's Office for further action. Frisco Police Department officials have expressed their gratitude to the Frisco Independent School District staff and the parents for their cooperation during the early dismissal.
