Dallas Man Sentenced for Years-Long Employee Theft Using Company Credit Card

Sean Lakeith Clewis

Sean Lakeith Clewis, 49, has been found guilty of Employee Theft and sentenced to 5 years in prison, probated for 4 years, and ordered to pay $6,176 in restitution.

Clewis misused a company credit card, intended for business expenses such as fuel and maintenance for company vehicles, for personal gain. He purchased fuel for his own vehicles and personal meals without the company's consent between 2016 and 2021. His employer was Corporate Records Management, Inc.

The case presented challenges due to the expenses being disguised as business-related. However, the forensic financial analyst's detailed analysis played a crucial role in the judge's decision to find Clewis guilty.

The prosecution team included Lead Prosecutor Melinda Chaney, Second Chair Amber Moore, DA Investigator Alexander Lipsey, and DA Forensic Financial Analyst DeAnna Debenport. The Dallas Police Department conducted the investigation.
