Vehicle Fire Causes Morning Traffic Delays on Loop 12 in Irving

A vehicle fire on northbound Loop 12 at State Highway 114 caused lane closures and traffic disruptions on Friday morning, March 28th, according to traffic authorities.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:51 a.m. after a vehicle caught fire in the northbound lanes. Although the fire was classified as minor, it resulted in the closure of Lane 6 and the adjacent shoulder, impacting morning commuters.

Despite the lane closures, the express lanes and the majority of the main lanes remained open, helping to mitigate severe traffic congestion. The exit ramp in the area was also unaffected.

Authorities have not released information regarding the cause of the fire or any potential injuries. First responders quickly extinguished the fire, and crews worked to clear the affected lanes.

Drivers in the area were advised to exercise caution and seek alternative routes if possible, as cleanup and investigation efforts continued. The estimated time for full lane clearance was not immediately available.
