45-year-old Hasib Ahmed was taken into custody on Monday, April 28, by Irving Police officers, ending months of evasion from multiple Texas jurisdictions. Ahmed was booked into the Irving Jail at 1:08 PM on outstanding warrants from Dallas County, Tarrant County, and Jefferson County.
Ahmed had been charged with Aggravated Robbery in Dallas County on November 29, 2022, and initially posted a $100,000 bond. However, on July 14, 2023, a Surety to Surrender Principal affidavit was filed, signaling that his bondsman sought to revoke the bond over concerns about Ahmed’s compliance.
Ahmed was scheduled to enter a plea on November 7, 2024, but failed to appear in court, prompting the issuance of an arrest warrant. Since that date, he had been actively evading authorities.
In addition to the aggravated robbery charge, Ahmed also faced a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) warrant from Tarrant County and a False Report warrant from Jefferson County in Beaumont.
The Irving Police Department confirmed that Monday's arrest was executed without incident.
