The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team recovered the bodies of two men who went missing Saturday afternoon after falling off a boat on Joe Pool Lake.
At approximately 4:26 p.m. on Saturday, May 10th, authorities responded to a report of two possible drownings. Witnesses stated that two males fell off a boat and did not resurface. Neither man was wearing a life vest at the time.
The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team initiated a search that continued until nightfall and resumed operations on Sunday morning.
The team successfully recovered the two adult male victims. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified them as 23-year-old Koby Anthony Daniels and 33-year-old Guy Duvonte Hamilton.
Following the tragic incident, the Grand Prairie Fire Department issued a strong safety reminder, urging the public to wear a life vest or an appropriate personal flotation device whenever near or in the water as the lake season begins.
