On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Plano Police Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 5600 block of Woodhaven Court.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. Plano Fire-Rescue personnel provided immediate medical assistance and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where is was later pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as 44-year-old Brandon Dorsey of Plano.
On Sunday, May 18th, at approximtately 10:30 AM, a suspect was arrested in connection to this incident. 44-year-old Carlos Arthur Schurman-Mendes of Dallas has been charged with the Murder.
The incident remains an ongoing investigation by the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
