Man Found Dead After Vehicle Submerged in High Water Under I-635 Bridge

One person is dead after flash flooding submerged two vehicles beneath the Interstate 635 bridge in North Dallas early Wednesday morning.

At 12:09 a.m. on June 4, Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to 12900 Park Central Drive following a 911 call from a person reporting their vehicle was trapped in rising floodwaters under the overpass.

Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas Police Department personnel, including members of DFR’s Swift Water Rescue team, arrived on scene and observed two vehicles partially submerged due to the rapidly rising water.

Witnesses reported that two individuals managed to exit one of the vehicles. However, first responders were unable to access the second vehicle until water levels receded. Once safe to enter, emergency crews searched the vehicle and located an adult male inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
