On Saturday night, June 14, 2025, Irving Police arrested 54-year-old Bobby Gene Fretwell after responding to a reported domestic assault that took place in the 800 block of N. Meadow Creek Drive in Las Colinas.
At approximately 11:18 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 501 S. Loop 12 at Irving Boulevard, where he met with Monique Graves, the alleged victim. Graves reported that she had been assaulted by Fretwell, a former boyfriend from the past year.
Graves told the officer that during the incident, Fretwell grabbed her by the throat three separate times and applied pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe. Officers observed bruising on Graves’ neck consistent with her account.
Graves also stated that when she told Fretwell she was going to call 911, he took her phone away, preventing her from making the emergency call.
Fretwell was located, arrested, and booked into the Irving Jail without incident. He has been charged with:

Assault – Family Violence Impeding Breathing, and

Interference with an Emergency Request for Assistance.
The case remains under investigation.
