A 52-year-old Dallas man, Joseph Jeremy Slade, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on June 25, 2025, after a jury found him guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.
Slade was indicted on June 15, 2020, following an investigation by the Dallas Police Department. The trial concluded last week, bringing a verdict that ensures the victim has received justice.
Due to the sensitive nature of the horrific crime and to protect the victim, the Dallas District Attorney's Office has not released further details regarding the case.
The prosecution team was led by Delayna Griffin, with Summer Elmazi serving as 2nd Chair. Dallas DA Investigators Crystal Gregan and Walter Clifton Jr. assisted the case, alongside DA Victim Advocate Flor De La Fuente.
