Repeat Offender Caught Stealing Mail and IDs in North Irving

IRVING, TX — A 42-year-old woman with a lengthy criminal history was arrested early Monday morning, July 21, after Irving Police responded to reports of a suspect breaking into mailboxes in the 3100 block of Denali Drive in North Irving.

At approximately 3:15 a.m., officers located Nicole Marie Benoist of DeSoto near the scene. A search of her vehicle revealed stolen mail, stolen identifications, and multiple types of narcotics, including fentanyl.

Further investigation revealed Benoist was wanted by the Colleyville Police Department on three active warrants related to Burglary of a Vehicle and Credit Card Fraud. She was taken into custody and booked into the Irving Jail.

Officers identified 19 victims of identity theft connected to the case, with victims residing in Grapevine, Irving, Flower Mound, and Dallas. Benoist was charged with:

  • Fraud (ID Theft)

  • Theft of Mail

  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1-B (Fentanyl)

  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 (4–200 grams)

  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 3/4 (under 28 grams)

On July 22, she was transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where she remains. Her bond was set at $49,250. While in custody, both the Grapevine Police Department and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office issued additional holds related to new and previously unknown warrants for Fraud, Mail Theft, and Burglary of Vehicles with more than two prior convictions.

Benoist has prior convictions dating back over a decade. In 2021, she was sentenced to four years of probation in Dallas County for ID Theft and Forgery, which expired in March 2025. She also served two years in prison following a 2017 Forgery conviction and before that, was sentenced to two-year term in 2014 for Forgery, Credit Card Abuse, and Engaging in Organized Crime.
