IRVING, TX — On Monday, July 21st, at approximately 5:02 p.m., Irving Police officers responded to a reported disturbance near the intersection of S. O’Connor Road and W. Sixth Street in South Irving.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with two victims—a 40-year-old white male and a 38-year-old white female—who stated that a man had made threatening and racially charged comments, including statements about stabbing white people. When the victims asked him to stop, the man allegedly threatened to stab them and displayed a knife.
Officers located the suspect nearby and attempted to speak with him. He initially provided a false name and refused to properly identify himself. The man was arrested and later identified as 20-year-old Xavier Cartrell Brown, listed as homeless in the police report.
Brown was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Fail to Identify Giving False Information. His bond was set at $50,500.
On July 22nd, he was transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he remains in custody.
