Nine Dogs Rescued, Guns and Drugs Seized in Ongoing Dog Fighting Investigation

Items seized

On July 24, 2025, the Dallas Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Unit and South Central CRT executed a search warrant in the 1900 block of Cedar Crest Boulevard as part of an ongoing investigation into dog fighting and cruelty to non-livestock animals.

During the search, officers seized approximately six pounds of marijuana, three firearms—one of which was reported stolen from Louisiana—and removed nine dogs from the property.

“Our team is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of our community and its animals,” said Deputy Chief William Griffith. “Removing these dogs from a dangerous situation and confiscating illegal guns and drugs creates safer neighborhoods for everyone.”

The investigation remains active and is documented under case number 064860-2025.
