In June, the Irving City Council approved a $5,000 increase to the residential homestead tax exemption for property owners who are disabled or aged 65 and older.
Starting in fiscal year 2026, qualified homeowners will have $60,000 of their residential property's appraised value exempt from City of Irving ad valorem taxes.
Residents who qualify but have not yet applied must submit their application to the Dallas Central Appraisal District (DCAD) to receive the exemption.
