A Dallas County jury has convicted 51-year-old Mario Reynel Bassett of compelling prostitution of a child under 18. Bassett was found guilty on October 30, 2025, and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Judge Elizabeth Frizell presided over the trial.
The case was prosecuted by Lead Prosecutor Amanda Boylan, with Megan Bisacca serving as second chair and appellate support provided by Grace Shin. The investigation was handled by the Dallas Police Department, with trial support from DA Investigator Walter Clifton and DA Victim Advocate Gabriela Vallejo.
Bassett’s conviction reflects the coordinated efforts of law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim services to protect vulnerable children and hold offenders accountable.
