IRVING, TX – Irving ISD is proud to announce that Singley Academy, Irving High School, and Nimitz High School have been recognized as CREST (Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas) Award recipients by the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA) for the 2024-2025 school year. The award honors exemplary school counseling programs that promote student success across academic, career, and personal-social domains.
“I am so proud of our three campuses for achieving this honor,” said Julie Sobrea, Irving ISD Director of Guidance, Counseling, and College Readiness. “The counselors at these schools exemplify excellence in guiding students toward brighter futures, and their work stands as a model of how comprehensive counseling programs can transform lives.”
This year marks Singley Academy’s third CREST Award and Irving High School’s second, reflecting the consistent impact of their counseling programs. The CREST Award evaluates school counseling programs in five key areas: the school and counselor introduction, program implementation, foundational components, service delivery components, and program curriculum.

Irving ISD commended all the counselors for their commitment to student achievement and well-being, highlighting the vital role of comprehensive counseling programs in preparing students for success both in and out of the classroom.
