Two Rescued From Rising Waters in Cottonwood Creek in North Dallas

DALLAS, TX — Two men were rescued Saturday afternoon after becoming stranded in rising waters in Cottonwood Creek in North Dallas, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Units were dispatched at 12:58 p.m. on February 14, 2026, to Forest Lane east of Interstate 75 after a passerby reported seeing two men trapped in the middle of the creek near Forest Lane and Schroeder Road.

Authorities said the men were positioned on a concrete slab along a walking and riding path with a bicycle as waters continued to rise. It is unclear why they were at the location.

Members of Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Swift Water Rescue team deployed a water sled from the Forest Lane bridge and safely retrieved both men and the bicycle.

Medics evaluated the men at the scene, but neither required transport to a hospital.
