Firefighters Contain Wind-Driven House Fire in Grapevine Neighborhood

GRAPEVINE, Texas - Fire crews quickly contained a structure fire Wednesday afternoon, February 24th, after flames spread from a bedroom to the attic of a home in a Grapevine neighborhood, officials said.

The Grapevine Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 12:30 p.m. to the 4700 block of Glenbrooke Drive following reports of smoke and fire inside a bedroom. Battalion 1 arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor and declared a working fire.

Officials said the fire extended to the home’s exterior chimney and attic, with strong winds contributing to rapid fire growth. Firefighters brought the blaze under control within approximately 30 minutes.

Mutual aid agencies assisting at the scene included the Colleyville Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department, Southlake Department of Public Safety, and the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety.

No additional information about injuries or the cause of the fire was immediately released. The incident remains under investigation.
