IRVING, Texas - Firefighters quickly brought a structure fire under control Tuesday evening, February 24th, after smoke and flames were reported coming from the roof of a hotel along West Airport Freeway, according to the Irving Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 5:25 p.m. to the Ramada Hotel located at 4440 W. Airport Freeway. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke and fire originating from the roof and immediately focused operations on gaining roof access to stop the spread of flames.
Officials said prior pre-fire planning and prevention efforts allowed crews to access the building efficiently and contain the fire.
Responding units included Engine 7, Engine 6, 522, Engine 2, 521, Truck 2, Battalion 1, Medic 6, Truck 12, and Truck 7.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
