Texas Department of Public Safety troopers assisted El Paso Police in safely ending a high-speed pursuit on the afternoon of February 23, 2026.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., troopers coordinated with local officers to bring the chase to a controlled stop using a combination of the Grappler System and a PIT maneuver.
Authorities said the tactics were used to quickly end the pursuit while minimizing risk to the public, officers, and the suspect.
The driver was wanted on a felony warrant and was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was later booked into the El Paso County Jail.
Officials credited training, coordination, and the use of proven pursuit techniques for the safe resolution.
