Man Arrested by Irving Police for Domestic Threat, Faces Multiple Drug Charges and Warrants

Sergio Vega

IRVING, Texas — A man was arrested early Saturday morning after officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving an armed suspect, according to Irving Police.

Officers were called late Friday night, April 3, after a caller reported a family member was making threats while armed. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Sergio Andres Vega.

Police confiscated a firearm and also found drugs in his possession. Vega was taken into custody and booked into the Irving Jail at approximately 4:20 a.m. on April 4.

He is charged with Terroristic Threat Against a Family Member, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 under one gram.

After his arrest, officers discovered Vega had five outstanding warrants from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Dallas City Marshal’s Office. Those warrants include two probation violations tied to a prior conviction for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, one for assault family violence, and two for driving without a license.

Authorities said Vega has prior convictions for drug-related offenses in both Rockwall County and Dallas County. In Dallas County, he was sentenced to 10 years probation in October 2020. Records show multiple subsequent arrests, with probation revocation filings still pending.

Investigators also noted Vega tested positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, and THC in February 2025 and failed to report to his supervision officer for three consecutive months later that year.

The case remains ongoing.
