DALLAS, Texas — A Dallas police officer is facing charges after investigators say he attempted to flee from fellow officers during a prostitution-related investigation.
Senior Corporal Joshua Gonzalez, assigned to the department’s Criminal Intelligence Division, turned himself in Tuesday, April 14th, at the Dallas County Jail.
According to an arrest affidavit, officers observed a black Ford Fusion near Harry Hines Boulevard with two women believed to be involved in prostitution. As officers approached, the vehicle sped away.
Police pursued the vehicle for approximately 15 minutes with lights and sirens before terminating the chase.
Investigators later determined the vehicle was registered to the City of Dallas and assigned to the police department. Authorities said video evidence, cellphone data, and fleet records identified Gonzalez as the driver.
Gonzalez is accused of intentionally fleeing a lawful stop and has been charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle.
He has been placed on administrative leave as the internal investigation continues.
