IRVING, Texas — Firefighters quickly stopped a house fire Tuesday night in the Estates at Las Colinas neighborhood after crews responded to reports of smoke and flames coming from a two-story home, according to the Irving Fire Department.
The fire was reported at approximately 8:42 p.m. on May 19 in the 4300 block of St. Andrews Boulevard.
Fire officials said the first arriving company reached the scene within 2 minutes and 12 seconds of dispatch and found smoke and fire coming from a single-family residence.
Engine 4 and Engine 11 initiated an interior attack using two 1¾-inch hose lines.
Based on early indications the fire may have been caused by a lightning strike, firefighters advanced to the second floor to pull ceiling materials and check for fire extension inside the attic and upper portions of the home.
Crews were able to quickly stop the fire from spreading further through the residence.
Additional exterior hose lines were deployed while Truck 8 used a master stream to help fully extinguish remaining hot spots.
Truck 7 later handled salvage and overhaul operations, while Medic 4 assisted with establishing a permanent water supply early in the incident.
No injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, though firefighters said initial conditions suggested a possible lightning strike.
