Two Dead After Vehicle Bursts Into Flames Following Crash on Loop 820 in Hurst

HURST, Texas - Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that left two people dead early Sunday morning in Hurst.

According to the Hurst Police Department, officers and firefighters responded at approximately 3:48 a.m. on May 31 to the 200 block of northbound Loop 820 for a major accident.

Callers reported that a vehicle had crashed into an embankment and burst into flames.

When first responders arrived, they found the vehicle on the inside shoulder engulfed in fire.

After the flames were extinguished, emergency crews discovered two occupants inside the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the intense heat from the fire destroyed the vehicle's license plate, and the vehicle identification number (VIN) was not immediately accessible. As a result, authorities have not yet identified the victims.

Police have not released information regarding what may have caused the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
