IRVING, Texas - An Irving man is being held in the Dallas County Jail after police say he was arrested for a second alleged domestic violence strangulation involving his wife while he was already out on bond for a similar case.
According to the Irving Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at the Devon on Northgate Apartments in the 4000 block of West Northgate Drive on Saturday, July 11.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim and arrested 31-year-old Quindoloyn Spann. He was booked into the Irving Jail at approximately 10:55 p.m.
Spann has been charged with assault involving family violence by impeding breathing or circulation, a third-degree felony, as well as abandoning or endangering a child. He also violated a court-ordered protective order.
Irving police declined to provide additional details about the latest incident, stating the case involves "allegations of child abuse or neglect".
The arrest comes less than three months after Spann was arrested on April 30 in connection with another alleged strangulation involving the same victim.
According to the April police report, officers responded to the same apartment complex and contacted the 27-year-old victim in the parking lot. She told officers Spann placed both hands around her neck and applied pressure for approximately five minutes, restricting her ability to breathe and affecting blood circulation.
The report states the woman complained of neck pain, a headache, dizziness, feeling faint, and pain when swallowing and speaking. Officers later located Spann outside the apartment complex and arrested him.
Court records indicate Spann was released on bond while that case remained pending.
Because of the new arrest, prosecutors have also sought an insufficient bond charge related to the April 30 case, alleging he committed a new offense while released on bond.
As of Friday, July 17, Spann remained in custody at the Dallas County Jail. Although bond on the new charges was set at $250,000, jail records indicate he is not eligible for release because of a hold associated with his pending felony case.
