IRVING, Texas - Irving firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire Saturday afternoon at an apartment complex in north Irving, preventing injuries and limiting damage to the affected unit.
According to the Irving Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 18 to the Courtyard of Roses Apartments, located at 709 W. Rochelle Road.
The first fire engine arrived on scene at 3:32 p.m. and reported light smoke coming from Apartment 1179.
Firefighters initiated an offensive attack, entering the apartment to locate and extinguish the fire.
The blaze was brought under control at approximately 3:42 p.m., about 10 minutes after the first unit arrived.
Preliminary findings indicate the fire originated in the apartment's kitchen.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
