IRVING, Texas - An Irving woman is facing felony charges after police say she struck her boyfriend multiple times with a wooden board containing nails during a domestic dispute and was later found in possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Irving Police Department, officers responded at approximately 1:01 p.m. on July 16 to a residence in the 1000 block of East Grauwyler Road after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance in progress.
Officers contacted the 46-year-old male victim, who told investigators he had been in a dating relationship with 50-year-old Grazia Ray for approximately two years and that the couple lived together at the residence.
The victim told officers that during an argument, Ray picked up a 2-by-4 board with nails in it and struck him three times.
Police observed fresh injuries on the victim, including a scratch on his left chest, a scratch on his right arm and a red mark on his upper chest below his neck.
Investigators noted there were multiple boards with nails scattered around the property because it was under construction, and officers were unable to determine which specific board had been used during the alleged assault.
Ray was arrested at the scene.
During a search conducted after her arrest, officers reported finding a clear plastic bag containing approximately 0.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside a coin purse that was stored in a backpack she was carrying.
Ray was booked into the Irving Jail before being transferred to the Dallas County Jail.
She is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B Under 1 Gram.
Court records show her bond was set at $16,000. As of July 23, she remained in custody at the Dallas County Jail.
