A late-night wreck on Highway 67 near Main Street in Duncanville left one person dead and two others injured early Friday, according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. Deputies and Duncanville Fire crews were called to the southbound lanes around 11:15 p.m. Thursday after a driver heading the wrong way slammed into another car.
Investigators say the wrong-way driver was intoxicated and behind the wheel of a vehicle reported stolen out of Irving. He was taken into custody at the crash site and booked into the Dallas County Jail on a charge of intoxication manslaughter, with additional charges expected as the investigation continues.
The three occupants of the other vehicle bore the brunt of the impact. One person died at the scene, while the remaining two were rushed to nearby hospitals and are listed in stable condition. Highway 67 was shut down in the area for several hours as sheriff's deputies worked to reconstruct the crash.
