AZLE, Texas - A 64-year-old Fort Worth man remains jailed without bond on two capital murder charges in connection with the shooting deaths of his estranged wife and mother-in-law inside an Azle home.
Joseph Morris Gordon is accused of killing 59-year-old Traci Richelle Gordon and her mother, 83-year-old Teresa Rich Howe. Both women died from gunshot wounds to the head, according to information released in the investigation.
The women were discovered July 16th after Azle police and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 9:30 a.m. to a home in the 200 block of Stewart Bend Court for a suspicious situation.
Responding officers noticed an odor and observed evidence through the home's windows that prompted them to force their way inside to check on the occupants.
Inside, officers found the mother and daughter dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
The Azle Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division began investigating with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Rangers.
Investigators said evidence collected from the home, along with information obtained through Flock license plate reader cameras, helped identify Joseph Gordon as the suspect.
Texas Rangers took Gordon into custody later that same day.
Police identified Traci Gordon as Joseph Gordon's wife and Howe as his mother-in-law.
Gordon was booked into the Parker County Jail on two counts of capital murder. Bond was denied, and he remains in custody.
