Arlington, Texas - Arlington police were called out around 6:20 a.m. to a shopping center parking lot near U.S. 287 and Sublett Road after reports of gunfire. The retail area, anchored by a Kroger grocery store, sits along a busy stretch of southeast Arlington.
Responding officers discovered numerous spent shell casings scattered across the lot, along with broken windows at several nearby storefronts, pointing to an active exchange of gunfire. While they worked the scene, dispatchers relayed a separate report from a tow truck operator who had come across an injured man close by.
Officers located the victim and found he had been shot in the leg. He was conscious and talking as paramedics loaded him into an ambulance for treatment at a local hospital. Authorities have not received word of any other injuries connected to the incident.
No suspects have been arrested so far, and Arlington police say detectives are still piecing together what led to the shooting. The investigation remains active as investigators continue chasing down leads.
