On September 16, 2023, at approximately 12:50 pm, Dallas Police received a call to respond to an incident at the McDonald's situated at 1000 Commerce Street in the downtown area. Preliminary reports suggested that an individual had discharged a firearm, injuring one person, and subsequently fled the scene on foot.
Within minutes, police officers reached the scene and discovered a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound at the aforementioned location. The injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition by Dallas Fire Rescue personnel.
Authorities have detained a male suspect in connection with the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
