At approximately 6:43 a.m. this morning, Richardson Police responded to a tragic collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of N. Plano Rd. and E. Lookout Dr.
According to investigators at the scene, the motorcycle, driven by 53-year-old Michael Rasbury from Wylie, TX, was traveling southbound on N. Plano Rd. At the same time, an SUV was making a left turn from northbound N. Plano Rd. onto westbound E. Lookout Dr. The collision occurred when the motorcycle and the vehicle collided in the intersection.
Michael Rasbury sustained severe injuries in the crash and was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the SUV, the sole occupant of the vehicle, emerged from the incident without any reported injuries.
Preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle may have failed to yield the right of way while making the left turn, resulting in the collision. The Richardson Police Department Special Crash Investigation Team is actively looking into the incident, gathering further details to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic collision.
